Eastbourne is a large town and borough in East Sussex, on the
south coast of England.
It is situated immediately east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its sheltered position contributes to Eastbourne's title of "sunniest place in Great Britain".
Eastbourne derives a large and increasing income from tourism, conferences, traditional seaside attractions and sightseeing.
The architecture is typically Victorian and remains a key feature of Eastbourne. The town has a growing population, currently around 100,000.
